The World Expo has been held once every five years and takes place from May 1st to October 31st 2015 in Milan, Italy. The theme of the 34th edition is Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life. EME Hospitality Projects, in collaboration with DVP Europe, has been developed the F&B concept for the Holland pavilion themed Share, Grow, Live and was responsible for the F&B management throughout the Expo.

In festival style, the site offered several food trucks (Mini Pancakes, The Frying Dutchman, Houben Worstenbrood, ABC Truck, Unguilty Pleasure, Just Say Cheese and Bus Unlimited Solutions), where visitors could taste typical Dutch dishes with Dutch classics, from pancakes and ‘bitterballs’ to exciting new dishes, like the Dutch Weed Burger; a burger made from sustainably farmed seaweed.
Also presented on location was La Molina, the smallest Ferris wheel in the world, but is even more unique because it served food and drinks during the ride.
Restaurant De Kas served lunch and dinner, the menu consisted of slow food dishes prepared on a Monolith. Each day there were tastings, demonstrations, workshops and performances, creating a real festival atmosphere.

The number of visitors was around 29 million, of which 2.3 million visitors at the Holland pavilion. The daily national newspaper “Il Corriere della Sera” has published an article today with the current Hit Parade of the five most popular pavilions of the Expo. Holland ranks #2! A great success! ”
