Blaak office, Rotterdam

The Blaak is a large street in the city center of Rotterdam. The original harbor, constructed in the sixteenth century, was muted in 1940. After the war, the Blaak was developed into a business center and metropolitan boulevard with tall office buildings housing banks, insurance companies and the Chamber of Commerce. Redesigning the Blaak resulted in yet another office building.

For this building EME created an accessible lobby where both business people and visitors can have breakfast, lunch and relax at the same time. The lobby also offers the possibility to work and have meetings in small or large groups.

The result is a coffee concept offering both breakfast and lunch as a reception to welcome visitors and guests. Meeting rooms are offered to facilitate working in small and large groups using the services of the coffee concept. On top of that a restaurant concept is created offering lunch and dinner with national products prepared in the ‘eye catching’ open kitchen. This restaurant concept offers working and eating in a cozy and informal setting.
